AHEAD: The ultimate list of girl names that start with “T”.
If you’re looking for a head-turning girls’ name starting with the letter T, you’re in the right place!
Below, I’ve rounded up every single “T” name that’s even the slightest bit modern and cool.
I’ve also included each name’s meaning and current popularity—which will hopefully help you narrow down your list of favorites.
Interestingly, T names aren’t particularly “trendy” right now. There are zero T names in the top 100!
There are two T names in the top 200 and two in the top 300.
A total of 15 T names are in the top 1000—which is on the low end.
There were a few names that I was surprised to see in the top 1000, the first of which is Tatum. (I’ve never heard this Channing-reminiscent moniker used as a first name!)
I also wasn’t expecting to see Teresa ranking, since I view it as pretty outdated.
Another interesting trend is that other than Talia/Thalia, there are no spelling variations of the top-ranking T names. (This is in huge contrast to M names and H names, for example).
Without further ado, let’s go check out this huge list of baby name ideas and find the perfect one for your daughter.

Final thoughts on girl names that start with T
Before you make your daughter’s name official, here are a few questions worth asking yourself:
-
- Will young kids be able to pronounce the name? It’s really common for little ones to have trouble pronouncing letters and sounds such as “R”, “S”, “L”, “Th”, and “Z”. Names like Theodora and Tinsley might be particularly hard for your daughter and her friends to say for a few years. Think about whether this matters to you—it may not.
- Do her initials spell anything undesirable? Be really careful if you choose a middle name starting with a vowel. You should also do a Google search of your baby’s initials before finalizing them.
- Is the name too similar to other living family members? You might want to skip the T name Thea if your daughter’s cousin is named Theo.
Ultimately, you and your partner should choose whichever girl name that starts with T that makes you the happiest. It’s a very personal decision that only you can make!
Congratulations and good luck choosing the perfect T name for your baby girl!
